THE FILTERS
What hood filters do
The metal baffle filters in your hood catch grease before it enters the ductwork. As they load up, airflow drops, the line gets smokier and hotter, and more grease travels past them into parts of the system that are harder to reach.
Most kitchens rinse or soak filters in-house between professional visits. That helps, but it does not replace a full hood and duct cleaning, and filters that are bent, corroded or missing leave the duct exposed.
KitchenGuard Pasadena is a marketing and referral website. We do not perform cleaning, inspection or repair. Independent providers do the work, set their own pricing and scope, and contract with you directly. Verify any license, insurance or certification your project requires before hiring.
TWO APPROACHES
Cleaning versus exchange
Exchange programs suit busy lines that load filters quickly. Ask how often swaps happen, who owns the filters, and what the program costs if your volume changes.
WHAT TO SHARE
Details that help a provider quote
- How many filters each hood holds, and their approximate size
- What is cooked under them and how many hours a day
- How filters are cleaned in-house today, and how often
- Whether any filters are damaged, missing or do not sit flat
- Whether you want filters included with a full hood cleaning or as a separate service
FAQ
Common questions
How often should hood filters be cleaned?
It depends on what and how much you cook. High-grease lines often need filters cleaned far more frequently than the rest of the system. Ask a provider what cycle fits your kitchen.
Can staff clean filters themselves?
Many kitchens wash filters in-house between professional visits. That is routine maintenance and does not replace professional cleaning of the hood, ducts and fan.
Does KitchenGuard Pasadena supply filters?
No. KitchenGuard Pasadena is a referral website. An independent provider would supply, clean or exchange filters and bill you directly.
